«For Tecnológico de Monterrey research is a strategic activity; it is the engine that generates innovative solutions for the economic, social and environmental development of our country. We are committed to the idea that scientific and applied research should be used to add value to a society in a more rapid, measurable manner.
To make that possible the objective is to develop research focused on high impact themes through open, collaborative and interdisciplinary innovation linked with national and international industries, as source of knowledge and financing; to form research talent and give innovative solutions to relevant challenges to support competitively, technology based entrepreneurship, and community’s transformation to generate a knowledge economy.»
Arturo Molina, PhD., Vice Rector for Research, and Technology Transfer.
The results of the research developed at Tecnológico de Monterrey, are presented as prototypes in the Technology Showroom that is part of the Innovation HUB Tec-China facilities. The technologies listed below, offer business opportunities through the licensing of its intellectual property:
Exosqueletons Alice & Aknee
Mobility rehabilitation.
Alice and Aknee exoskeletons offer children and adults the opportunity to perform their rehabilitation in terms of mobility in a practical and economic way. With the use of Alice, it seeks to improve the mobility of children who suffer from a problem, as a result of a congenital disease. On the other hand, Aknee allows adults to carry out their knee rehabilitation, emulating the common movement of them to stretch and bend at variable speeds.
Global Nano Additives
Innovation in Nano Additives.
The innovation consists in a lubricant additive based on nano-technology, which withstands extreme temperatures and pressures, decreasing the wear of tools, and increasing the useful life of the lubricant. The product is sustainable and has no direct competition in the market. The technology is protected by patent applications in Mexico and the United States.
Intelligent Wheelchair System
Intelligent Wheelcharir System.
Interphase system that allows the autonomous movement of a traditional wheelchair, through the neuronal signals of its user. The technology offers the following benefits: movement of the chair through neuronal, eyes and head signals emitted by its user, autonomous navigation, variety of interfaces, and protection sensors.
InstaPAP®
Early detection of cervical uterine cancer.
InstaPAP® is a portable medical device that detects and prevents uterine cervical cancer in women. Unlike the Pap test and other cervical screening tests, InstaPAP® does not require a tissue sample or laboratory analysis, so the need for infrastructure and costs associated with traditional cytology is eliminated.
Pen Needle
Biomedical device that simplify two procedures in one.
The double-puncture needle is a biomedical device that allows two medical procedures in a single puncture. It performs the bone marrow aspiration and the bone biopsy in a single operation. Thanks to its ergonomic design, the innovation makes possible the reduction of pain in the patient.
Remote Laboratories
Remote Laboratories.
The Remote Labs is a technology developed at Tecnológico de Monterrey and transfered to the Hangzhou Dianzi University. The Remote Labs
are tools that allow the teacher bring laboratories to the classroom, and carry out the experiments at the same time that the students take the class.
